The Bergen County Department of Human Services issues requests for proposals for needed human services consistent with the Local Public Contracts Law.
Individuals who are devoid of conflict of interest and who serve on county appointed advisory boards review proposals and make funding recommendations to the department. The methodology for reviewing proposals is based on an evaluation and ranking, which includes technical, management, and cost-related criteria, and includes the weighting of criteria. The Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders authorizes all contracts.
Any public, private non-profit or for-profit organization that serves residents of Bergen County may submit proposals. Announcements for requests for proposals appear in newspapers and under the county's with the Purchasing Division.
