1. The County is a service-based organization dedicated
to assisting its constituents. Therefore, we will
be opened for services independent of the weather.
2. The County does not have delayed openings.
3. Employees are expected to make a determined effort
to fulfill their work schedule during periods of inclement
weather. Employees who cannot report to work due to
inclement weather must contact their respective departments
in the usual manner.
4. With the exception of the Law Enforcement operations
and residential programs operated by the Departments

operations. If such approval is granted, the employee
must utilize earned vacation time or compensatory
time, if applicable.
5. An employee who claims to be sick on a day of
inclement weather must provide a physician’s
note upon return to work in order to receive sick

Employees on extended sick leave prior to the day

personnel policies for a physician’s note.
