October 11, 2017, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Bergen County Administration Building
County Executive James J. Tedesco III and the Div. of Historic & Cultural Affairs invite the public to attend a presentation Wednesday evening at 7 pm, Oct. 11, on Fort Lee’s role as a battlefield during the American Revolution. Historian and author, Todd Braisted, will deliver a talk on “A Nest of Tories,” his new book on Fort Lee’s role as a battlefield in the Revolutionary War. This new history, unearthed through his extensive research, will be the source of a reinterpretation of Fort Lee’s seminal role in the American Revolution, known primarily through the area’s well-known battles of 1776. Braisted’s research was funded through a grant from the National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program awarded to the borough of Fort Lee. This grant, applied for and administered by Fort Lee’s Cultural & Heritage Affairs Office and its director, Tom Meyers, is the first National Park Service Grant awarded to the Bergen County community. A reception will follow the presentation.
