  1. Bergen County 2017 Youth Art Month Exhibit

    The Bergen County Executive, James Tedesco III, the Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Division of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and the Arts Educators of New Jersey, invite the public to view the 2017 Bergen County Youth Art Month Exhibit. 12 Bergen County schools are represented. Since 1961, the National Art Education Association has promoted Youth Art Month (YAM) to recognize art education as an important and viable element of the education curriculum for our children. YAM spotlights the value of art education and how it can add to a fuller quality of life and promote creative thinking. One of YAM’s goals is to increase community understanding and interest in art and art education through the involvement of art exhibits such as this. The public is welcomed to attend the awards reception honoring the participating schools. It will be held on Thursday, March 16th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room of the County Administration Building which is located on the 1st floor of

  2. Art Exhibit: Poramit Thantapalit "Life Under the Sea", Mixed Media and Cyanotype at the Johnson Public Library

    Artist and Hackensack resident, Poramit Thantapalit has installed an exhibition: "Life Under the Sea", Mixed Media and Cyanotype at the Johnson Public Library. It consists of artwork from the artist's creative output over the past 5 years and combines recycled materials and cyanotype. Mr. Thantapalit turns what most people consider "trash" into fantastic reinterpretations. Some objects used are: plastic bottles, cardboard, wood, paper, wires, electrical cords, computer parts and used clothing. The artist repurposes these everyday scraps into objects of great beauty and worth. Don't miss this opportunity to get a glimpse into this talented artist's imagination. See more of his work here:
