Artist and Hackensack resident, Poramit Thantapalit has installed an exhibition: "Life Under the Sea", Mixed Media and Cyanotype at the Johnson Public Library. It consists of artwork from the artist's creative output over the past 5 years and combines recycled materials and cyanotype. Mr. Thantapalit turns what most people consider "trash" into fantastic reinterpretations. Some objects used are: plastic bottles, cardboard, wood, paper, wires, electrical cords, computer parts and used clothing. The artist repurposes these everyday scraps into objects of great beauty and worth. Don't miss this opportunity to get a glimpse into this talented artist's imagination. During the month of April Oakland watercolor artist Pamela Leggate will be exhibiting her work at the Oakland Library. This exhibit concentrates on transparent watercolor, using different techniques and concentrating on a limited palette.

“Mahwah’s Herstory: The Changing Roles of Women in Mahwah’s History”, examines the role of women in Mahwah’s history, starting with its first settler, Blandina Bayard, and continuing through to 1960. It highlights women’s activities, including pioneering and farming, changing roles in the workforce, and women’s accomplishments in the arts, in charitable organizations and in social reforms.
“Medicine in Mahwah” highlights the history of medicine in Mahwah. It examines the growth and development of the medical field with highlights on Mahwah’s practitioners, their methods, and instruments throughout various periods.
