Oakland Public Library Art Exhibit: "With Love for Nature"2017-05-01T09:30:00Oakland's own Siegi Lehmann, will exhibit her photography and digital art at the Oakland Library during the month of May through mid-June. The exhibit is titled With Love for Nature
Her work has been featured in the NYTimes, professional magazines and books. Ms. Lehmann taught photo restoration at the American Photo Corporation in NYC and freelances in photo restoration, commercial art and commissioned artwork. Her major influences are "life, the beauty of nature, our world, and its inhabitants."

bergenPAC's Sandy Bennett Art Gallery presents: The 14th Annual YCS Blossoms Art Exhibit 2017-05-17T11:00:00Students from YCS special education schools, therapeutic group homes and community-based programs will showcase their talents in an array of mixed mediums, including water color paintings, paper mache art, 3-D group projects, poetry and more. Year after year, the children’s artwork has earned a reputation for touching the hearts of viewers. Fittingly, this year’s theme is “Celebrate with the joy of art with us!” A mixed chorus will perform at the awards presentation on Saturday May, 27. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Youth Consultation Service, better known as YCS, has been caring for vulnerable children with special needs throughout New Jersey for nearly 100 years. The non-profit agency serves approximately 6,500 families in an array of residential, community-based and educational programs each year. “Medicine in Mahwah” highlights the history of medicine in Mahwah. It examines the growth and development of the medical field with highlights on Mahwah’s practitioners, their methods, and instruments throughout various periods.

Having inspired countless other musicians, Sanborn has worked in many genres which typically blend instrumental pop, R&B and lately, more and more traditional jazz. He released his first solo album Taking Off in 1975, but has been playing the saxophone since before he was in high school. Later albums have included guest artists such as Jack DeJohnette, Bill Frisell, Charlie Hayden, Wallace Roney, Kenny Barron, Christian McBride, and Eric Clapton. Sanborn continues to be one of the most highly active musicians of his genre. Considered as a whole, David Sanborn is an artist who pushes the limits and continues to make music that challenges the mind and goes Straight to The Heart.
