  1. Zoo Flix After Dark – The Space Between Us

    August 23, 2017, 8:30 PM - 11:00 PM @ Van Saun County Park

    County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders are excited to announce the return of Bergen County’s "Summer Movies in the Park" series. This summer the county will offer an expanded selection of movies at multiple locations including Van Saun County Park, Darlington Lake, and Riverside County Park. Movies will be shown every Wednesday and Friday from July 7 to August 30. Wednesday night movies will be geared towards an adult audience and Friday night movies will be kid-friendly. All start times will begin after 8:30 PM (After Sunset). Bring your chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy a great movie in the park!

  1. MC Toney Jackson hosts the Puffin Summer Poetry Slam in Teaneck

    August 23, 2017, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

    Author, illustrator, hip-pop artist, and educator Toney Jackson hosts the Puffin Summer Poetry Slam on Wednesday, August 23th at 7:00pm at the Puffin Cultural Forum. Poets and wordsmiths of all ages, styles, and experiences are welcome to compete for the role of victor and a $50 cash prize; the runner-up will receive $25. In addition to the competition, the mic will be open as long as the poetry is flowing. Registration for poets starts 30 minutes prior to the event. Author and illustrator of multiple children’s books, Toney Jackson also performs as a hip-pop artist under the name of Zach Lost. He has performed on the Vans Warped Tour, released two CDs, and was a winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Recently, Toney Jackson was featured in a nationally broadcast Microsoft Windows 10 commercial for his use of poetry, illustration, and technology in his classroom.
