In a joint effort with the New Jersey Department of Health since 1990, the shelter has participated in a comprehensive program to control rabies. In the past year more than 6,000 dogs and cats were given inoculations at its weekly clinic. The shelter continues to serve the municipalities that contract with it as a rabies control center. Starting in 2014, the clinics have expanded to offer additional vaccinations for a fee. For a complete list, see the vaccine registration form. The show’s title, “Do Not Enter”, is intended to be a humorous play-on-words of the borough of Leonia's recent enactment of new traffic rules. Leonia, once the site of a renowned, thriving art colony, continues to attract artists in a range of medium. The borough’s lengthy list of prominent visual artists included Charles Chapman and painter and etcher Grant Reynard. The Leonia artists presenting their work in this show perpetuate that rich heritage. This unique exhibition features emerging artists exploring different mediums using diverse styles in abstracts in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and photography. Artists' works presented in the show include Elizabeth DeMarco, Pam Fenwick, Katharina Castiblanco Grammer, Nanda van Ginkel, Marsha Heller, Paul Leibow, James Leynse, Ronald Pancrazi, Vince Priblo and Steve Swank. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Art enthusiasts are invited to come and meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments.

The Jersey City Arts Council hosts a reception for Tenafly artists Ellen Nathan Singer and Allan Drossman at Garden State Plaza on Saturday, April 21, from 4pm-6pm. The gallery is located in store no.95 (between Tiffany and Gucci) as part of the Garden State Public Market. Ellen Nathan Singer was recognized by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts with a fellowship award in 2015. She creates limited edition prints from woodcuts and etchings that are both timeless and evoke nostalgia for days of circus magic and snowy streets and summer memories.
Allan Drossman's passion is clay - his ceramics evoke the natural world, under the sea and in the desert. Meet the artists on Saturday afternoon, 4-6pm. For more information, or to submit an application for our open call, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Beauty comes in many forms. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is a sparkling, ever-flowing river of melody. The rugged landscape of Finland beckons in a pair of compelling scores, including Sibelius’ transporting Fifth Symphony. SIBELIUS Symphony No. 5, Seemingly hewn from Finland’s forests and mountains, this arresting work is filled with the grandeur of nature.
