  3. “Open Cockpit Father’s Day Weekend” at the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum

    Bring the family to a day at the Aviation Hall of Fame and Teterboro Airport. There will be fully open cockpits that include a very rare Lockheed Bushmaster, a Convair 880 circa 1958, a M*A*S*H Bell helicopter, and a Walter Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Truck. Visit us and sit in as a pilot and get the feel of flying! Additionally, the world’s only surviving Martin 202 Cockpit has been refurbished and is now open for visitors to sit in. This aircraft was operated by TWA beginning in 1950. Access to the museum is included with admission.

  4. Art Exhibit: Ellen Nathan Singer & Allan Drossman at Garden State Plaza at the Jersey City Art Gallery

    The Jersey City Arts Council hosts a reception for Tenafly artists Ellen Nathan Singer and Allan Drossman at Garden State Plaza on Saturday, April 21, from 4pm-6pm. The gallery is located in store no.95 (between Tiffany and Gucci) as part of the Garden State Public Market. Ellen Nathan Singer was recognized by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts with a fellowship award in 2015. She creates limited edition prints from woodcuts and etchings that are both timeless and evoke nostalgia for days of circus magic and snowy streets and summer memories. Allan Drossman's passion is clay - his ceramics evoke the natural world, under the sea and in the desert. Meet the artists on Saturday afternoon, 4-6pm.     The historic African American Gethsemane Cemetery, a County Historic Site in Little Ferry, will be open during Bergen County’s 2018 Juneteenth Celebration. It is open for self-guided tours all after noon. At 2:15, historian Arnold Brown will lead a guided tour. Gethsemane Cemetery is a 1-acre sandy hill located west of the Hackensack River. It was entered onto the National Register of Historic Places because of the significant role it played in the enactment of NJ’s early civil rights legislation, as well as containing evidence of West African burial customs. The County's Juneteenth Celebration will be held 10 am–8 pm in Bergen County’s New Overpeck County Park, Ridgefield. There will be entertainment, food, children’s games, cultural and historic displays, vendors, exhibitors and family reunions.   7. “Music on the Rocks” at Palisades Interstate Park NJ

    Come to a Doo-wop & Classic Rock & Roll concert with "Beauty & The Grease" at the Palisades Interstate Park's State Line Lookout in Alpine. On select Saturday evenings during the warm weather months, park visitors can enjoy some “Music on the Rocks” at State Line Lookout in Alpine, the highest point along the Palisades Cliffs in New Jersey. The programs begin at 7 PM and are open to all, and advance reservations are NOT required. Some seating at café tables will be available, or visitors can bring their own chairs. The State Line Café at Lookout Inn will remain open with a special evening menu, or visitors may bring a picnic supper. Adults may bring their own beer or wine if they'd like. Concert rain date: June 23.
