Freeholder Louis A. Tedesco was elected in November
2001, and is serving his first term on the Bergen County
Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Tedesco, a former three-term Mayor and Councilman in
Little Ferry, is a graduate of Bergen Community College.
As a freeholder, Tedesco is Chairman of the Parks &
Public Works Committee, is liaison to the New Jersey
State Legislature, the Community Action Program and
the Solid Waste Advisory Council. He is a member of
the Committees on Health & Human Services, Law &
Public Safety, and Planning & Economic Development.
Freeholder Tedesco has a long-time commitment to community
service. In Little Ferry, he is a member of the Little
Ferry Planning Board, past member of the Little Ferry
Volunteer Ambulance Corps Board of Governors. He is
a former trustee for the Little Ferry Free Public Library,
former Director of the Little Ferry Boys Club
Twirlers, and a former member of the Bergen County Transportation
Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Bergen
County Mayors Association Executive Board.
Tedesco served our country honorably as a member of
the 104th Engineer Battalion of New Jersey Army National
Guard.
Freeholder Tedesco is the father of three children,
and is a parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona R.C.
Church in Little Ferry, and is a member of its Holy
Name Society.
