Riverside County Park Completely Inclusive Playground

PROJECT BACKGROUND

As part of ongoing renovations at Riverside County Park – South, located in the Borough of North Arlington and Township of Lyndhurst, the existing playground will be updated to comply with standards outlined in Jake’s Law. Jake’s Law, passed in 2019, encourages counties to build Completely Inclusive Playgrounds. The standards, set forth by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs can be found here.

As part of our commitment to public input during this project, a Community survey is being conducted by the Parks Department. To fill out this Completely Inclusive Playground survey, please click here.

At this time the County of Bergen is soliciting input from the community about the design of such a playground. A public hearing will be held during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Bergen County Board of Commissioners at 7pm on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023. This meeting will take place in the Public Meeting Room located on the fifth floor of One Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
