About Parks & Recreation Areas
Most parks open at 10 a.m. and close a half hour after sunset. Exceptions are made for:
- Lit tennis courts and ice skating areas while the lights are on
- Lit ball games
- Overnight camping (with permit)
- The James A. McFaul Environmental Center
- The Bergen County Zoological Park
Additional Exceptions
- Campgaw Mountain Ski Center
- Darlington Park during the swim season (opens at 10 a.m.)
- Bergen Equestrian Center and Saddle Ridge horseback riding facilities
- The Van Saun Park railroad and pony rides
- Five golf courses:
- Darlington
- Orchard Hills
- Overpeck
- Rockleigh
- Valley Brook
Smoking is prohibited at any playground, ball field, zoo, and any area where children congregate.
The Bike Path
The Bike Path is approximately 6 miles. This continuous path runs through Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Fair Lawn, Paramus, Saddle Brook and Rochelle Park and under Route 4. The path features a scenic waterfall at Dunkerhook Park and there are many ponds throughout the path. This path follows the Saddle River, passes by the Historic Easton Towers, and tree-shaded picnic areas.

The county parks system includes five dog runs.:

Prospect Avenue
Woodcliff Lake - Henry Hoebel Area

Saddle River County Park
Ridgewood, NJ - Van Saun Park Continental Avenue Entrance
