Clinical Psychologist – Division of Family Guidance

The Clinical psychologist is a full time 40-hour per week staff position.  The responsibilities of the position include providing forensic clinical assessments and treatment of adolescents.  The position interfaces frequently with the Family Court.

Job Responsibilities:                

  • Conduct Court-ordered psychological evaluations for youth pre and post adjudicated for a variety of offenses. These assessments are conducted in both an outpatient setting and in the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center.
  • Conduct Court-ordered psychosexual assessments of post adjudicated youth involved in sexual offenses.
  • Conduct clinical assessments of youth referred by the Court or as part of the law enforcement diversion process.
  • Appear in Court upon request to provide mental health perspective on assessed youth.
  • Conduct psycho-educational and or clinical individual and group sessions.
  • Attend case management meetings and staff meetings.
  • Carry a caseload of individual patients and provide group therapy.

Schedule:                            

  • 40 hours per week, weekdays, will include evening hours.

Education Requirements:

  • Doctoral Degree in psychology.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience working with adolescents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under time deadlines.
  • Computer literacy (MS Excel and Word).
  • Clinical license preferred but not mandatory, supervision towards licensure available.
  • Forensic experience preferred
