Supervising Program Analyst - County of Bergen - Department of Human Services - Division of Disability Services

Under direction, plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates the work of program staff to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring the effective implementation of program policies and procedures; does other related duties.

Job Responsibilities:  (may include but are not limited to)

  • Plans, organizes, and assigns work of the Respite Care Services program staff by providing leadership and direct supervision.
  • Recommends and ensures the effective implementation of policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with program standards.
  • Examines and monitors performance of program staff and assessors.
  • Reviews expenditures of program funds.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Coordinates all activities and services required for the completion of program objectives.
  • Analyses completed (re)assessments of consumers/clients for compliance with eligibility guidelines and develops appropriate plans.
  • Compiles and maintains current list of optimum providers of respite services and utilizes best judgment in choosing most efficient and economical service.
  • Prepares program resolutions, contracts, and reports.
  • Generates correspondence to consumers/clients relative to re-determination/changes.
  • Oversees arrangement for extensions and emergency service.
  • Attend program monitoring/review forums.
  • Performs case management and advocacy as deemed necessary.

Schedule:

  • Full Time/ 40-hour work week.

Education Requirements:

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

OR

  • Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience; and seven (7) years of professional experience in the review, analysis and evaluation of operating programs in an agency or organization.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid NJ Driver’s License.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Experience and knowledge working with individuals with disabilities (preferred).
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
