Training Technician - County of Bergen Department of Human Services – Division of Child Care Resources

Under the direction of the Quality Improvement Specialist prepares and conducts in-service training with Child Care Providers and compiles information and data into manual form required for Grow NJ Kids; Does other related duties as required.

Job Responsibilities: (may include but not limited to)

  • Conducts in-service training programs with enrolled program staff.
  • Reviews agency policies, procedures and other resources for implementation for both center-based programs and providers
  • May develop standard operating procedures for promoting Grow NJ Kids including recruitment and outreach to programs and providers
  • Conduct site visits and establish evaluative procedures to determine the progress of participants and the program readiness (initial site visit, pre-assessment and observation).
  • Keep required records and files. Submit required reports documenting services provided to programs.
  • Assist programs with completing enrollment in the NJ Workforce Registry for all required staff.
  • Provides consultation to staff and discuss the program’s self‐assessed Environmental Rating Scores.
  • Participate in team meetings, events and meetings.
  • Participate in committee/focus group/workgroup to help plan to support providers.
  • Attend training and monthly meetings.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in Education or related field (Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or any other field related to child growth and development); or teaching certification from the State Department of Education – Nursery School, Preschool through third grade or Special Education Teacher.
  • Experience with administering structured classroom observation tools including the Environment Rating Scales (ERS).

Schedule:

  • Full time – (in person required)

Other Requirements:

  • Must be active in the NJ Workforce Registry to document and track programs for Grow NJ Kids
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, and Excel programs.
  • Knowledge of the NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, NJ Birth to Three learning standards and mentoring and coaching practices with program administrators and teachers.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English - must be able to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in both.
