Bergen County OEM to Distribute Rescue Response Equipment to Fire and EMS Departments
What: Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, and the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management will distribute rescue response protective equipment to local career fire and EMS departments on Thursday, April 21 at the Hackensack Fire Department Headquarters. The protective equipment, which includes ballistic resistant vests and helmets, is being provided by Bergen County’s Office of Emergency Management through NJ State Homeland Security Grant funding in effort to ensure career fire and EMS departments have the tools necessary when responding to current threat environments such as active shooter, small improvised explosive devices, vehicle ramming, or other mass casualty incidents.
