DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO TEST NEW ENCRYPTED RADIO ALERT CHANNEL

What: Members of the media are invited to witness a demonstration of BC-ALERT at the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center on Wednesday, April 5 at 11:30 a.m.  Under the leadership of County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners, over the last 12 months this new encrypted communication channel has been installed in every municipality by Bergen County’s Division of Public Safety Communications under the Department of Public Safety so first responders in all 70 Bergen County towns can communicate on an encrypted network when responding to a crisis.
