HACKENSACK, NJ — Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners are proud to announce the addition of 11 brand-new buses to the Bergen County Community Transportation fleet. These new vehicles replace aging models, ensuring continued safe and reliable transportation for seniors, veterans, and residents with disabilities throughout the county.

The Division of Community Transportation provides essential door-to-door services to residents with limited mobility, including transportation to medical appointments, senior activity centers, shopping destinations, employment opportunities, and other critical needs. Over the past five years, the division has delivered more than 648,000 rides across 2.4 million miles, helping Bergen County residents maintain independence, access care, and stay connected to their communities.

“Community Transportation is a lifeline for thousands of Bergen County residents who depend on us to get where they need to go,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “These new buses will help us continue that mission with safety, comfort, and reliability. We’re committed to making sure that no one is left behind — especially our most vulnerable neighbors.”

“Upgrading our transportation fleet isn’t just about vehicles—it’s about improving quality of life,” said Commissioner Chairwoman Germaine Ortiz. “This investment ensures our seniors, veterans, and residents with disabilities can stay connected to the resources and services they rely on.”

The new buses feature improved accessibility, enhanced safety technology, and greater fuel efficiency, aligning with the county’s commitment to modernizing public infrastructure and expanding mobility options.
