Education Department at the Bergen County Zoo

The Education &  Discovery Center is home to our reptile and amphibian species! The building is open from 10:00am – 4:00pm daily. May close for private programs (signs will be posted on the door).

GROUP PROGRAMS

• Enhance your group outing by reserving an Education Program! They're great for all ages! Programs are held in the Education & Discovery Center. Group programs are intended for schools, scouts, etc.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

• We offer Birthday Parties for children turning 5 or older! Birthday parties are hosted inside the Education & Discovery Center which includes a private room and live animal demonstrations.
• We provide:
  • Private indoor party space.
  • Live animal demonstrations with biofacts pertaining to the chosen topic.
  • Admission tickets to the zoo (20 children, 22 adults).
  • Canvas bag decorating for 20 children.
• Parties last 90 minutes total:
  • Educators bring 3 animals to the room and do a 30-minute presentation related to the topic of your choosing. The remaining time is for the party host to serve food or do any other activities.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS

• Join us for Zoo Babies and Zoo Kids! Early childhood programs are offered for children 18 months – 6 years old.

SUMMER CAMP

• Bergen County Zoo Summer Camp provides unforgettable experiences to campers which includes age-appropriate activities including up-close animal encounters, games, hands-on science projects, crafts, zoo tours, and tons of educational fun that that builds on campers' love for animals and nature!
• Wolf Pups (3-5), Red Wolves (6-8), and Gray Wolves (9-12) all have a different weekly topic catered to what your child is most interested in! From science weeks to art weeks, there is a topic for everyone!
