What are the normal hours of operation?

The park hours are dependent on the season. As of 3/11/24, the hours are:

Weekdays: 8am-6:45pm
Weekends and Holidays: 8:30am-6:45pm

The museum building’s hours are:
Weekdays: 8:30pm-4:45pm
Weekends: 10am-4:45pm
Holidays: CLOSED

Is the James A. McFaul Environmental Center open on holidays?

The Environmental Center is open holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The museum building is closed on all holidays.

I do not live in Bergen County. May I still come to the Park?

Yes, the Environmental Center is open to everyone.

Is there any entrance fee?

Admission is free—there is no charge to enter the park. Fees are only associated with requested programming and reservations/photography permits. A free, Park Use permit is required for all groups of 10 or more. Please contact us for more information at 201-891-5571.

Do you offer any educational programs?

We offer in-person programs for grades Pre-K - 6th. Please take a look at all of the programs we have to offer. All programs can be modified for adults.

Programs are available on weekdays only, excluding legal holidays. Please take our suggested age ranges into consideration when booking. Click here to download reservation forms.

Are there garbage cans?

There are no garbage cans. The park is carry-in/carry-out, so trash must be removed or placed in dumpsters located in each parking area.

Is grilling allowed in the park?

There is no grilling allowed on our property.

Are dogs allowed in the park?

No pets of any kind are permitted in the park.
