Immunization

New Jersey law (N.J.A.C. 8:57-4.1) requires any child attending private or public learning facilities to receive certain disease-preventing immunizations. The Public Health Nurses of Bergen County perform Immunization Audits for contracting towns to ensure the law is enforced.

Whenever immunization deficiencies are noted, the parents/guardians are referred back to their private physician in order to receive up-to-date immunizations. If uninsured, the parents/guardians can be referred to a site where free vaccines are available for eligible residents.
