The New Jersey Department of Health is working with state, federal, and local agencies to plan for the fast and equitable distribution of a vaccine to all New Jersey communities. It is the goal of the State’s Department of Health to make safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations available to all who live, work, or are educated in New Jersey.

The State has prioritized who can get a vaccination and when.

  • The first vaccinations are intended for healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents;
  • Then first responders and other essential workers;
  • Then, adults over 65 years old and those with high-risk medical conditions; and
  • Then the general population.

The County Executive’s Office and Bergen County’s Health Department are finalizing Bergen County’s plan for vaccine distribution based on the State’s guidelines and will provide more details as they become available.

The County’s vaccination plans will follow CDC and DOH guidelines. Because COVID-19 continues as a threat to our communities, vaccination plans may change as we continue to battle the pandemic. Please continue to check the website for updates.
